Humor, Rain, and the 5 Month Rule January 10, 2008

1) Do you have/ever had any dating or sex superstitions? (Wear ‘lucky jeans’ on first date, always light a vanilla candle, etc.) If so, what are they?
Oh ya - I have a big one: The 5 Month Rule. Whenever I’d been dating someone for 5 months I would stop and analyze how I was feeling about the relationship, how things were going, etc. If I didn’t immediately think, “Ya, I still want to be with this person,” I knew it was over and I would end it as nicely as possible. There have only been two times in my life that I went past 5 months. Once was with the father of my children. Unfortunately, I second guessed myself and pushed the little nagging concerns to the back of my head. I likely shouldn’t have but if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have my kids. The second time was with my husband and at 5 months I didn’t have any doubts, nor do I now (almost 2 years).
2) If you were stranded on the old deserted island, and a genie appeared who could only grant you one wish — to bring one of the following people to join you, who would it be?
- your spouse/significant other
- an unrequited love or some person you’ve had a crush on
- an old/past love
- your best friend
Definately my husband. He’s one of the few people that always makes me feel good about myself. We talk, we laugh, we have great sex. What more could you possibly want?
3) Tell us “weather or not” you’re in the mood — how does rain, snow, sleet, scorching heat, sweltering humidity etc. affect your libido.
The only weather that puts me in the mood is rain. I love the sound of it, the smell, the feel. Especially summer rain after its been hotter than hell outside for days on end!
4) Are you a crying drunk, an angry drunk, a ‘I’m drunk, let’s screw’ sort of a drinker? (And, if you do not drink — which one of those things is the reason?)
I’ve been all of the above at some point or another. It all depends on the company I’m keeping I think. I cry with girlfriends, I get angry rarely, and I wanna screw my brains out if I’m with someone that turns me on.
5) Who turns you on the most & why:
the activist
the author
the care-giver/healer (nurse, doctor, masseuse, herbalist, chiropractor etc.)
the comedian
the educator (professor, teacher, mentor etc.)
the model
the musician
the politician
the scientist
Definately the comedian. I love people that make me laugh and I think laughter is a great aphrodisiac!
Bonus (as in optional): Looking back, what’s the one thing you’ve done which was supposed to be erotic, but didn’t quite work out?
